So here’s something I didn’t think I’d be saying today: I have created a newsletter for my writing and this blog, called Jess’s Messes. I’m using Buttondown as the provider, because they do a lot of cool things, aren’t too corporate, and fit the bill for me with my modest needs. The other thing that pushed me over the line was when I saw they had set up a P.O. Box for their users to make use of, a legitimate physical address where any mail can be sent, but also at enough of a distance so I can still keep a semblance of privacy while I can.

I certainly won’t be shilling my wares at every turn, but as I already do talk quite a bit about writing on the blog, the contents of the newsletter shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone here. It’ll be sent out once a month (twice if there’s something really exciting going on) and I promise to make it newsy, with local flavour (i.e. some photos) and stuff. (As well as writing updates.)

You can probably tell I’m not really one for tooting my own horn, so I’ll stop now. However if you’d like to sign up you can do so at the above link, and I look forward to sharing further baby-steps along the way towards becoming “a WRITER, for REALS” with you.
